Deadpool #49.1

Deadpool #49.1 (January 25, 2012)
Writer: Daniel Way
Penciller: John McCrea
Colorist: Veronica Gandini
Letterer: Joe Sabino
Cover by Ryan Stegman, Michael Babinski, Marte Gracia

Deadpool tells his life story (according to Daniel Way) through parodied versions of Naughty by Nature’s “O.P.P.”, “Chocolate Rain,” Britney Spears’ “Baby One More Time” and a couple others. And I perpetually made the above the face while reading it. I really have nothing more to say.

I mean, I did finish Deadpool 49.1 while my sister couldn’t make it more than halfway before giving up. Granted, there was no story, the lyrics were obnoxious to follow along to with the melodies and the art wasn’t impressive either. So I don’t really blame her. Everything was just so blah and disappointing and embarassing. I know we’re not supposed to take Deadpool seriously but this made me want to punch him in the face repeatedly if only to get him to stop singing. You’re a merc; cut that out.

Please someone, ANYONE, get a hold of Deadpool and write some awesome storylines for him because right now, Deadpool comics are just...
My thoughts exactly, Jerry.

  1. The Daniel Way Deadpool run has been lack luster at best, but dreadful mostly. It's sad. I don't even read it anymore and he's my favorite character :(

  2. I haven't read this issue yet but my friend has, and said the same thing that the music parts were hard to follow. Kind of a stupid idea in general.
nice gifs haha, thanks for the post

    1. Thanks for reading!

The songs were very dated and definitely what could've been an okay comic very annoying. It was also just strange to have an issue that was pure backstory. Oh well.
